Secondary 2 NEWater Learning Journey

In Term 2, our secondary 2 students went on a Learning Journey to Kranji NEWater Plant. There, they learnt about the processes involved in the treatment of recycled water, the costs involved and why we need NEWater here in Singapore. Sec 2 Learning Journey to NEWater Plant

Currently, the Secondary Two students are going through a LAP module focussing on NEWater. Therefore, to further enrich the learning experience, we brought the students on a Learning Journey to the Bedok NEWater Plant.

The students experienced an outdoor learning, whereby they used samples of different materials to test the level of acidity (using the Universal Indicator). They were also brought out in a guided tour around the plant. Prior to the visit to the NEWater plant, students have been reading about NEWater. Students appreciated this hands-on activity.

Field Trip to Vivocity

As part of their Secondary Two Language Arts Programme, these students were brought on a field trip to capture the use of persuasive and imperative language used in advertorials. These pictures will portray what the field trip which took place last year looks like.

As a post-exam activity, the Secondary Two students also went to the Singapore Flyer as part of their Learning Journey. Here are some of the pictures taken.

Learning Journey 2008

Towards the end of term 3 of 2008, the English Language Department of HSS organised and carried out a Learning Journey to the Science Centre. Through this learning journey, students learnt about the world around them and the sciences involved. They were also required to produce a report about what they had learnt during the Science Centre.
