Reflections by Student - Drunken Prawns

I did not expect to be selected to represent 1E3. I thought that I only have to act in front of my class and I am done! I could still remember the conflicting emotions I felt when my English teacher, Ms Nisah, told me that I will be representing 1E3. I was excited and yet it felt like there was a load on my shoulders.

My team did not manage to rehearse much as we were either too busy or our schedules clashed. Our class encouraged and supported us to keep us going.

On the day if the competition, my ears pounded and my palms were sweaty. I was so worried I would forget my lines! However, I remembered what my ballet teacher told me. He said, “The more you worry, the more mistakes you will make. Relax and enjoy yourself on stage.” So I did.

I enjoyed being on stage though I was not the best ‘Angie’ in the competition but I am still happy that I managed to perform well. Furthermore my class emerged as winners!

From this experience, I learnt that we should work as a team and enjoy ourselves on the stage. We went through ups and downs but we managed to hang on and won the first prize. It is true that if we preserve, we will achieve greater heights.
